NILES, Ill.Revolution Dancewear, the only designer and marketer of beautifully-crafted and affordable dancewear, including bodywear, footwear and recital costumes, that sells exclusively to dance studios and dance schools across the U.S. and Canada, today announced it has been included in the Inc. Magazine’s annual exclusive ranking of the nation’s fastest growing private companies. The company earned the 2566 spot on the Inc. 5000 by posting 138 percent revenue growth from 2009 until 2012. The company was one of 273 Illinois companies to receive this distinction in 2013

“This list represents the best of the best private companies in America – and we’re honored to be among them,” said Robb Lippitt, chief executive officer at Revolution Dancewear. “Our inclusion reflects not only our phenomenal growth but the continued trust our business customers have in us. We’re proud of our track record, Illinois heritage and how we enable our dance studio owners to improve their customer satisfaction and increase profitability.”

Revolution Dancewear was founded in 1996 in the Chicago suburbs by Scott Harris and Dave Faloona, who held a fundamental belief that dance studio owners have always been the most qualified to determine what products their dancers should wear and how those products should fit.

Today, with its business-to-business model, the company has eliminated the middleman, and it significantly reduces dancewear prices for studio owners. In turn, Revolution Dancewear dance studio customers sell unique dancewear and costumes for a profit and can maintain a competitive advantage compared to area merchants. The company’s direct-to-studio approach also allows dance studio owners to build customer affinity. Students and their parents enjoy the convenience of shopping where they dance. Students and their parents appreciate cost-effective, high-quality dancewear and costumes.

Revolution Dancewear’s recital costume collection, dancewear and active wear includes 420 designs.

“We have established ourselves as the dance studio owner resource for high-quality, cost-effective dancewear and costumes, as well as the information they need to grow their business,” added Lippitt. “We are dedicated to enabling dance studio owners to increase their customer satisfaction and in studio experience, while impacting their bottom line. The proof of our successful, unique model is in our bottom-line results and the innovative support we offer to our customers.”

Revolution Dancewear also provides its customers with tools and information they need to build and maintain successful businesses. The company’s online Studio Resource Center, which is unique to the industry, addresses studio owners' most pressing issues. From how to manage an in-studio dance shop and inventory management to marketing practices and pricing strategies, studio owners will find an abundance of business resources.

Revolution Dancewear also offers its business customers discounted memberships to DanceStudioOwner.com, which offers studio owner members hundreds of how-to articles and downloadable business forms, checklists, and other business templates plus online teleseminars, marketing tips and studio start up business resources. The online resource center also provides a unique community where studio owners can seek advice from other owners and learn best practices.

The Inc. 500 | 5000 list represents the most comprehensive look at the most important segment of the economy – America’s private companies that fuel economic growth through job creation and investment. When Revolution Dancewear was founded, it had two employees. The company today employs more than 100 individuals.
