Being from the south we don’t get many oportunities to attend events in New York. I would love to attend the summit to meet other teachers and gather new ideas. I have some young teachers who would really benefit from the dance teacher summit but cannot afford to attend. This would be an amazing trip!

What a treat it would be to attend the Dance Teacher Summit – as a mother of 3 of my own and 100’s of other students, I would love to attend this for personal growth, to then come back and share with all of my “kids”. A luxury I would never be able to do on my own. Peace, Love and Dance!

Congratulations on your new website it looks great and glad to see new costume styles because I think I have used just about every costume the students always comment how comfortable they are.
Thanks Revolution

The most exciting prospect of attending The Summit is the potential for personal and professional growth. As a teacher & studio owner, we regularly define the role of leading and maintaining our businesses, programming, and classrooms; however, I think it is refreshing and invigorating to return to being a student. When we stop learning, we stop growing, and I think it is imperative that no matter what, we refrain from letting that happen!

The Big Apple! I was there once, in 1999. My student had received a scholarship from Manhattan Dance Project to attend the Broadway Dance Center for a week of classes. I was invited to come along. What a thrilling journey. Fabulous classes at the Broadway Dance Center, one class at the Martha Graham school, & a private ballet lesson with Emalitta Ettlin. We saw Chicago & Fosse & dined @ Sardies. We toured the city by subway & hoofed it. We went to the top of the World Trade Center, Julliard, saw the Statue of Liberty, Tiffany’s, Rockefeller Center, & Radio City Music Hall. I missed the horse drawn carriage ride around Central Park. It’s on my list of to do’s if I win this. I have been passionate & committed to my school since 1974. I am not sure if I will continue serving my community as a dance educator this next year. Maybe a shot in the arm like a trip to New York will inspire me to carry on.

Would be such a great opportunity to attend the Dance Teacher’s Summit with our staff!!! It is so important as a teacher to continue challenging ourselves personally and professionally, The Summit would be the perfect place to receive quality training and inspiration.

Such an amazing experience this would be for any teacher. It would bring back so many memories of our “youth” years to once again actually take classes and experience the love of dance without the pressure of actually preparing and teaching the classes ourselves. Thank you for making this aware to all of us too :o)

Kimberly Ciola says:

As director of a non-profit organization, we have very limited funds to send our teachers to an amazing summit like this one. We offer over $5,000 in scholarships to students in financial need each year for dance classes, which is very important to our organization. Getting a scholarship to attend this workshop for our teachers, would help us continue our mission: bringing quality dance and performing arts instruction to all students- despite their financial situations. Thank you!

Attending the Summit this year would be amazing. Being surrounded by hundreds of Dance professionals, meeting new people and learning some new, fresh tricks and tactics for running a successful studio is very exciting and appealing – especially since our studio is in a small rural town and we are often isolated from the rest of the world.

We would be so excited to attend the Dance Teacher Summit in New York City! Taking class with dance legends Frank Hatchett and Luigi would be special enough, but to interact with so many other dance professionals and get inspired for the new year is the truly exciting part. We would also be honored to get a first glimpse at all of the great new Revolution dancewear and costumes. What a great way to celebrate the start of a new season with teachers who stick it out through thick and thin.

The Dance Teacher Summit gives you the rejuvenation that gets you ready for your upcoming dance year! Filled with tons of information and classes, plus vendors that are the best (Especially Revolution!!!) come all together in one place! Plus being amongst peers from all over the world is the ideal way to “commiserate” with and find out that YOU are not alone! The same thing actually happens to all of us!
I want to take class with Frank Hatchett!!! So very thrilled that he well!

After teaching for 20+ years, I would love some inspiration from the younger generation of the dance world. I would love to hear from other teachers around the world that I am not the only one seeing major changes among the students’ attitudes as well as their parents about dance. I would love to hear from the experts how to deal with each situation and grow even more as a studio owner and teacher. It’s hard living in a small town and not having many artistic people to vent with! I think the Dance Teacher Summit would be the place for me!

My Mom has been the owner/artistic director of her own dance studio for 50 Years. I’m the next generation, “Daughter/Performer/DanceTeacher” , to step in her shoes and then possibly one of my children will continue the tradition.
We as a dance family have been given many gifts, of which we’re always thankful, but the economy this year has hit hard. To be able to have all three generations learning and continuing our dance education and training in NYC would be AWESOME! Thank you for a Great Opportunity.
The studio has been selling Revolution shoes, as well as, dance attire for as long as I can remember and we’ve had only positive results. Revolution, you are serving our dance community wonderfully – kudos

I would love to go and learn from such talented teachers. It’s a great way to reenergize myself for the year to come. I have found that my most productive years are the ones where I have gone to a teacher seminar in the summer! I also would love the opportunity to see what new products are out there…especially the new Revolution costumes. You really can’t tell what any costumes or other products are going to be like until you actually get to see them.

I have gone in the past & never had a chance to take any of my teachers. It would be great to have 3 passes so that I could bring some of my staff with me! It’s going to be a great experience to whoever wins this contest!

Being able to attend the Dance Teacher Summit would be an amazing opportunity. The studio I work at is in a small town of 35,000 unfortunately I am the owner and the only teacher for 120+ students. I have been able to get to know other teachers & studio owners through workshops I have attended. These teachers and owners have been amazing becasue they will put on workshops for my students to come and attend. therefore my students get the opportunity to be taught by different teachers, and meet other students. The reason it is so important for my students to attend these is because we are at the minimum 3 hours away from any studio. Being able to attend the dance summit would help me to make more contacts and learn what else is out there, for my students in order to help them acheive their dreams. Not to mention all the new material & learning different teaching styles.

Grayce DeWitt says:
Jul 02, 2011

The last time I danced in the “Big Apple” was in 1990. Owning a studio for 38 years I am so blessed to have a staff of young women who continue to amaze me and bring the joy of dance to my life. To have this opportunity to share dance in NYC and gain the knowledge from the world’s most prestigious teachers and educators would be the ultimate gift for me and my favorite young women!

Heather Fortier says:
Jul 03, 2011

I’ve been wanting to attend the summit for the past three years. Like many other studio owners, I’ve adjusted tuition and give scholarships and discounts to allow students to keep dancing during these difficult economic times. That leaves little to no money for personal study and advancement. Would love to be able to attend the Dance Teacher Summit. Thanks for providing the opportunity.

As with most dance teachers who truly want a studio that Parents can trust with their children’s dance training and where their money will be spent with the best investment without robbing them blind. This leaves us as Instructors with little left to spend on learning and re evaluating our teaching, training and business abilities, unless it is close by.

And, it’s great to see that Revolution will be attending as a vendor!

It would be a great opportunity to attend the summit; currently teaching dance for an amazing program, but looking to achieve my goal and open my own studio in the very near future. Attending the summit would be an excellent opportunity to network and evolve professionally and personally. The best part about attending the summit would be learning from such a wide variety of teachers, studio owners and choreographers.

Would love to win these passes! Had the opportunity to attend last year but due to personal circumstances I am unable to attend the full summit this year. If I was the winner I would be able to experience some of the fabulous classes and seminars as well as give the other two passes to my teachers. This would be the best gift!! *fingers crossed*

Was just speaking with a colleague who will be speaking at the conference…how funny to then find this blog! (She is also the one who referred me to your company!) Attended Dance Life a couple years ago and it was an amazing “recharge” for life as a studio owner and now as we venture into new territories (merchandising and sales) I know the Summit would be overflowing with ideas and inspiration! And what a wonderful blessing for whomever receives this gift!

I would love to be able to take my mom to the conference. After 40+ years of owning a studio, the last year was so draining. We know to keep the new kids & interests coming in, we need to totally revamp our program, but after coming off such a bad year, it’s so hard to be motivated to get the new changes in motion. And a catch 22, not enough funds to attend what I know would be such a re-charging experience for us both.

We love revolution dance wear, and have enjoyed your beautiful costumes at a great price. I would love to attend this conference. All summer I’ve been wanting something to rejuvenate me, so I can give more to my students. Just having twins, my life has been quite a whirlwind. A chance to get away and revive my passion for dance, and teaching would be a dream come true.

I’ve been teaching dance for a long time in a small community and I believe we’re all guilty of reinventing the wheel. I would love to go to pump some fresh blood into my community for my dance school and the others in town. We all need inspiration.

OK I’M GOING TO BE TOTALLY HONEST WITH Y’ALL. I WANT TO GET THESE 3 PASSES TO DANCE BECAUSE I LOVE DANCE. NOT ONLY DO I LOVE IT BUT I’M TRYING TO PROVE EVERYBODY WRONG BY CHOOSING MY CAREER, DANCE. EVERYBODY SAYS “YOU’LL NEVER MAKE IT OR I WON’T HAPPEN”, AND I ALSO WANT TO PROVE MY FAMILY I’M RESPONSIBLE ENOUGH TO DO THIS I’M NOT A QUITTER BUT I BELIEVE IT WILL HAVE A DANCE CAREER. I AM A DANCER. I HOPE Y’ALL CONSIDER THIS COMMENT FOR THE TRIP BECAUSE THIS IS MY DREAM AND IT WILL HAPPEN.
THANKS FOR LISTENING:)!

As a dance teacher and choreographer, I think containing education is so crucial to keeping ones skills high. I would love the opportunity to learn and grow from the staff and all the other inspired people attending! The knowledge I learn would be passed on to many students. For us dance teachers the summer can often mean a slow peroid financially. The scholorship would mean so much to me and the many students who would also obtain the knowledge! Dance has been the one thing in my life that has consistently never failed me, and I’m so grateful for it.
