It’s December 1st already! We’re not sure where the year has gone, but we do know that for most of you, your holiday shows are winding down while your summer recital plans are gearing up.
There are some recital themes that stand the test of time: Through the Decades, Colors, What’s in a Name, One Hit Wonders, etc. But perhaps it’s time for something a little more unique; something fresh and different. We know it can be tough to decide on the perfect theme and what songs to go with it, so here are a few ideas to jump-start your imagination and put on a great show.

This Year on Broadway

Popcorn and Paramount
- It’s Paramount Pictures 100th anniversary in 2012. How about a salute to the movie classics (and dancing) Paramount has brought us through the years?

Choosing Music
A great tip for after you’ve chosen your recital theme is to make sure you have the right tools to organize your music. Music services like Spotify, or last.fm, allow you free access to thousands of songs to listen to and create playlists for your theme ideas. That way, once you’ve chosen your songs, you need only purchase those songs that make the final cut.
So, what is your studio’s theme this year? How do you keep your themes exciting from year to year? Do you use any tools to organize your music? We’d love to hear your ideas and start the conversation with other studio owners!
